BEIJING, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Zhang Youxia, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, on Wednesday met with Chan Chun Sing, Singapore's minister for defense, and Alvaro Lopez Miera, minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba.
Both Chan and Lopez are in Beijing to attend the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, which is scheduled to take place from Sept. 17 to 19.
During his meeting with Chan, Zhang said that China stands ready to join hands with Singapore to implement the important consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries, practice true multilateralism and strengthen regional security cooperation.
China is also willing to work with Singapore to maintain maritime security and order, uphold international fairness and justice, promote the upward, positive development of military relations between the two countries, and inject more certainty and stability into regional security.
Chan said Singapore adheres to the one-China principle, and is willing to deepen and expand exchange and cooperation with China in various fields, continuously enhancing the level of bilateral relations.
When he met with Lopez, Zhang said that China is willing to coordinate closely with Cuba on international and regional affairs, deepen practical cooperation in various fields to advance relations between the two countries and the two militaries, and bring the China-Cuba community with a shared future to a deeper level and higher standard.
Lopez said Cuba is willing to work with China to oppose hegemonism and power politics, and to safeguard the common interests of both countries and the international community. ■
